About The Film: Synopsis: Louisiana Bayou Film Synopsis:

Louisiana Bayou is a story song about a man who went to visit an old woman who claimed to do voodoo to grant him a wish, but he was doubtful to what she claimed. The story ends with a surprise that was unexpected by the man who went to visit this old woman.







What was your drive behind making this film?

Marilyn Oakley: I wanted to bring this story song to life through an animated film so people could watch the story unfold.



How do you feel when you are awarded with the MP FILM AWARD Award.

Marilyn Oakley: Very honored and happy to have my film chosen and recognized for such a great award.



Can you tell us about the greatest moment during shooting this film?

Marilyn Oakley: Being this is an animated film; it was nice when it was finally finished. This project took several weeks to complete.



How rigorously did you stick to the script while shooting?

Marilyn Oakley: As a lyric without a conventional song form structure, I stuck to the storyline as the story lyric unfolded.



Where there any onset problems During the filming of the film & how did you deal with it?

Marilyn Oakley: No onset problems, but very challenging nonetheless working with animation to create the scenes needed for a well told story for people to follow and enjoy.



Do you have any advice for young filmmakers out there? Or like yourself?

Marilyn Oakley: To believe in yourself and never stop dreaming.



Do you think it is essential to go to a film institute in order to become a successful filmmaker?

Marilyn Oakley: No



Which film has inspired you the most?

Marilyn Oakley: I don’t really have a particular film that inspired me. I enjoy a well written action, comedy, or romantic film.



Which particular filmmaker has influenced you the most?

Marilyn Oakley: Sir Alfred Hitchcock



Which book would you love to make a film out of one day?

Marilyn Oakley: There are so many good books out there, it would be hard to choose just one.



If you got the opportunity to go back in time & change something in any particular movie of yours, then which movie & what changes will you opt for?

Marilyn Oakley: At the moment there isn’t one I would change.



If you were to shoot the film again, what would you do differently?

Marilyn Oakley: As an animated film, there are no changes I would make with this one.



What is your greatest achievement till date?

Marilyn Oakley: Getting recognition and receiving awards for my films and songs



How do you pick yourself up after a failed film?

Marilyn Oakley: Doesn’t apply
